Sarah-Leigh Wills is an award-winning illustrator, with an infectious energy and love of all things creative.
From the moment I saw the colourful and quirky Happydesigner website, I knew that I wanted Sarah to illustrate my books and bring my characters to life with her special magic!
Having never written a book before, I tentatively emailed my first story to Sarah and Happydesigner’s studio manager, Barry. I was absolutely delighted and probably a little bit scared when they wanted to go ahead with my project and join forces!
But what an incredible and exciting journey it’s been!
My chats with Barry and my ‘facetime’ meetings with Sarah have always left me inspired and bubbling with new ideas! And their dedication and enthusiasm are catching! My initial story about a little carrot leaving the city to live on a farm grew to include four seasonal tales and accompanying activity books.
Sarah’s amazing illustrations have brought me so much joy and ‘happy tears’ as my characters evolved and Dilly-Dally Farm came to life. Sarah has also designed and created my beautiful Nature Thyme brand, which encompasses my Wizz and Fizz story books, activity books and the Green Shoots children’s gardening club.
As a first-time author, Sarah and Barry’s help, support and encouragement have been invaluable but above all, I am thrilled that they share my vision for ‘Wizz and Fizz’ and all their friends at Dilly-Dally Farm!
